5.18.01 (friday) The Salvation Army will love me. As I type, there are bags and boxes of my junk out on the curb, waiting for the friendly Salvation Army truck to take them away. Of course I took pictures: I didn't realize I had accumulated so much junk. It makes me wonder how I ended up with all this stuff in the first place... 5.17.01 (thursday) It's 3 days till my birthday, but at work I get to celebrate early. I arrived this morning to find my cube decorated in all manner of Birthday things (Thanks, A!). And Andy, the best printer in the whole world, sent me flowers. They're even in an ugly green vase, which I'm sure is absolutely coincidental. 5.16.01 (wednesday) I'm selling death. 5.15.01 (tuesday) I ordered an album by Mirah after reading a description at crayonbox.org. I tend not to order music on-line much anymore, because I'm impatient and it's easier and faster to go down to the local record shop and buy it. If they don't have it THEN I'll order it on-line. In the case of the Mirah album, I decided to go right to the source. It may have taken a bit longer to get here, but I feel good supporting a smallish record label, and they put a personal little note at the bottom of my "your order has shipped" e-mail: I hope you enjoy this record-it's one of my favorites! It should be there in a flash! Take care and keep in touch. How nice is that? I think I'll be ordering from K Records a lot more. 5.14.01 (monday) I used to have a dog, but he's been running with the pack up in the sky for a few years. I cannot express to you how much I would love to have another dog, but trying to keep one in a little apartment just isn't right. And it's hard enough to find a place that will allow cats, much less dogs. This is where Emmitt comes in. He's sort of my surrogate dog until I can get one of my own. He's actually the neighbor's dog, but I go over to visit and go on walks with them occasionally. Puppy fun without the responsibility. 5.13.01 (sunday) I can't think straight. I just found out about this, I keep hoping it's just a hoax (like the Lou Reed thing last week), but it probably isn't. It's that much more upsetting because I just saw Douglas Adams last month. So long, and thanks for all the fish. :( Tom 7 has made a font of Douglas Adams's handwriting. On a happier note, Happy Mother's Day to my Mum and Toby (my step-mum) and all the other moms out there. The shots below happened while I was updating. An empty bookcase is the perfect spot for a kitty... |
